These are the easiest and effective ways of promoting podcasts to promote promising growth
So your podcast has been posted to Itunes and you are now creating consistent content for your show. How do you get your show out to your fans. Marketing and podcast promotion is the best way to have your podcast heard, but where to start?
There are a million different ways you can get you name and show out into the world. From paid advertisement to billboards and so much more, you can look at any marketing site and see every different conceivable option and every conceivable price. For those who are on a budget restriction and don’t have a full fledged marketing team, here are three options that can help bolster any show.
1). Social Media
In the modern age of technology, we’re all connected. Your social media is one of the best way to attract listeners whether it be friends/family or that guy that always talks about podcasts. Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are all great ways of getting traction for your show.
Don’t forget to ask people who enjoy the show to Share/like/Repost to make sure that you hit the biggest audience you can. Also, if you have a little money available for marketing, paid promotions always help!
2). Look for other shows to guest host (and have them on your show)
Podcasting, in its basic sense is one part show, two parts community. There are plenty of podcasts in your area that you can collaborate with. Reach out to them, talk about having them on your show/vice versa. Cross promoting
Being on another podcast can allow for great cross promotion, plus it’s mutually beneficial. We are a podcast community first and foremost, and helping out other podcasts should always be in your sight. Find out who else does local podcasts or someone who has a similar theme to your podcast and message them, see if they would be interested in collaboration!
3). Promote on another podcast
The crazy thing about people who listen to podcasts, they are more likely to listen to other podcasts! Which is why promoting on a podcast with a similar topic is a great way to get more people to listen.
This is by far the most expensive another effective way to get some traction. Every time someone listens to their podcast, they will hear your advertisement. Find another podcast that has similar themes to your and see if they will advertise your podcast. Definitely places like MaximumFun.com offer Jumbo-trons for Podcasters and other sites do as well.
There are definitely more ways to advertise, but these are some that I have seen firsthand work and work well.
