How eye catching podcast logos can help increase traffic to your Show
So far we have come up with our idea, equipped ourselves, and set-up a premium website. Now let’s get to the actual podcast itself! We can make your podcast stand out with some amazing artwork!
What makes a good logo?
So here is a quick breakdown for what makes a good podcast logo:
- Defines your podcast idea
These are the three basic needs for a good logo. Let’s take a look at Itunes “New and Noteworthy” Section:
What do all of these logos have in common? They do all three things: they have simplistic icons to identify the podcast, they show what the podcast is about, and they catch the eye of the user, giving them an incentive to check this show out.
How do I get an awesome Image?
If you’re the artist type, great! Jump on Photoshop and get it done!
If you’re not, here are some options
(These are all paid options)
Fiverr ($5 – $20) – Fiverr.com is a freelance website that I have used personally. You can either search through a list of freelancers and their works to find someone with the right look for your website or you can post a specific job where you detail exactly what you are looking for in your logo, when you would like it complete and the price you would like to pay. From there freelancers are able to bid on your job and you can pick who you would like to create your logo.
99 Designs ($300 – $1000) – A more expensive option, but you pay for what you get. You find the package you’re interested in, let the artists know what you want, and the freelancers will design the logo for you. Allows you to pick from a range of logos that will work best for you!
Upwork ($50 – $100) – Upwork is a mid range option, it works similarly to Fiverr, you can either post a job or look for freelancers to work for you. While Upwork is more versatile than Fiverr, giving more outlets than just design work, you can definitely find someone who can create a great logo for you. Podcast editing is also available via Upwork (or you can have the amazing team at Bill Lazerman help you with that, Contact us for more information!).
Your podcast logo is one of the first ways to get people interested in your podcast. By finding/creating one that fits your budget and your show, it immediately sets the expectation for a interesting and well produced production, giving you an advantage over other podcasts!
